Big Garden Birdwatch

Long-tailed tit

Have just completed my little stint (pun intended, sorry) for the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.  Birds must have known it was a special event as I had a good turnout of thirteen species.  Male & female blackcap, four long-tailed tits and two greenfinches – which are really rare for my garden* – were highlights.

Why not take part?  There’s still time, though you’ll have to be quick as it ends today.  All you have to do is watch birds in your garden for an hour (great excuse!) and count the highest number of each species you see at any one time.   Then submit the results via www.rspb.org.uk/birdwatch

*Garden – that’s a grand name for my tiny courtyard!
