Blackcap

Been working on some blackcap sketches today, with varied success.  (Day off for a Bank Holiday – what’s that?)  Will post an image when things have improved, though probably not for a few days as I have family and friends here for Easter.  I think painting will have to take a back seat to cooking, cleaning, tidying….

If you’re looking for something to do over Easter: check out the George Lodge exhibition at Nature in Art www.nature-in-art.org.uk.  Haven’t had a chance to see it myself yet, but his work was amazing so I’m keen to go.  He illustrated many bird books, but was best at painting birds of prey, and had extensive knowledge through keeping his own raptors.  Rare to see a significant collection of his work in one place, so don’t miss it.
