George Lodge Exhibition

Called in to Nature in Art at the weekend to see the George Lodge  exhibition.  Fantastic to see a whole body of work in one place rather than just occasional single paintings.  I’m familiar with his raptor images but really enjoyed seeing the less well known works such as the Golden Orioles feeding on cherries.  I tended to think of Lodge as an oil painter but the exhibition really showed the breadth of his work with engravings, pencil sketches, and tempera also on show.

The exhibition is in association with the George Edward Lodge Trust, who have images of the exhibition on their website.  It’s on until 9th May, so you still have time to visit.
