Wildlife Art: a Popular Genre

Artists & Illustrators magazineArtists are always keen to increase awareness of their work, so this month I was very happy to see that my painting Heading Home is featured in the Portfolio section of Artists & Illustrators magazine (October issue).

This month the Portfolio section contains images from nine artists and I was interested to see that, although any subject is admissible, three of the nine images were of birds. Yet more evidence that wildlife art is a popular subject for artists.

Portfolio sectionCertainly wildlife provides whatever theme or challenge the artist desires – colour, texture, movement, camouflage, tone – so it’s no wonder that the genre appeals to so many people.

All we need to do now is get the Art Establishment to recognise that!
